The 62nd NBAA show was held this year at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, USA.
RMD AIR exhibited in partnership at this years show with the New Zealand interior completion and joinery firm, Aerospace Interiors.
The stand (No. 1677) conceived and designed by RMD and built by Aerospace Interiors, was well positioned in the North part of the hall and received wide acclaim for its dynamic design as well as the level of quality in the fabrication of the joinery, that used a complex combination of stainless steel, carbon fibre and wood veneers.
High tech solutions were integrated using a "digital veneer" in areas to create some of the more complicated shaped surfaces. RMD used the platform of this years NBAA show, as an ideal opportunity to build and develop relationships within the industry, making key contacts with US completion centers and aircraft operators.
An exciting opportunity was identified between RMD and a leading US based seat manufacturer, to develop a concept for a "next generation" seat for VIP aircraft.
"We are delighted to have entered into this strategic arrangement with a well established and respected US company" says managing Director Rupert Mann" and I believe RMD are well placed to add value to this project with our skills in aviation interiors and history in automotive design".
I addition RMD are in the early stages of discussions to develop in house interior styling, for a well known helicopter refit company with facilities in central Europe and the US, as well several other discussions underway on interior projects for smaller business jets.
With a total of some 25,000 visitors attending this years NBAA show, defining a more buoyant market than perhaps many anticipated, RMD are looking forward to strategically building on business opportunities in the US through 2010 and will be present at the Dubai Air Show this November in 2009 and exhibiting again at EBACE in May 2010.
